Matthews") in gilt on the backstrip. Gilt stamped title on the front board. New endpapers. A large portion of the original front wrap bound in, with several moisture rings and professional tissue repairs to the edges. Tissue repairs to the margins of the title page, introductory pages, and plates and tissue guards at the rear. The plates are bound in out of order at the rear, however all 8 plates are present. Contemporary owner's inscription, dated 1938) on the verso of the Introductory Note. Small darkened patches to a handful of pages. A few pages with a bit of staining.
