Photographic brochure promoting Shamballa Ashrama, the Sedalia, Colorado headquarters of the Brotherhood of the White Temple. Founded by occultist Claude Dodgin (Dr. M. Doreal), the group blended Theosophy with elaborate esoteric lore—ranging from claims of discovering ancient emerald tablets beneath the Great Pyramids of Giza and visiting subterranean Atlantean colonies inside Mount Shasta to later teachings on UFOs and inner-earth races. Post-WWII, Doreal prophesied an atomic war, relocating followers to this valley under the belief that local lead deposits would shield them from fallout.
The brochure features eleven photographs of the compound and surrounding valley—including the printing and mailing room and "The Temple"—alongside several portraits of Doreal. Notably, one photograph depicts Doreal on a throne in ceremonial robes. Following his death in 1963, the group gradually faded into a quiet mail-order philosophy operation. A striking artifact of Cold War-era occultism and New Religious Movements.
