Ken Sanders Rare Books presents an evening with Alex Caldiero in celebration of his new book of poetry, Some Love. This event will take place on Thursday, July 9, beginning at 7pm in our downtown bookstore, 268 S 200 E Salt Lake City, UT. A reading by Alex Caldiero is comparable to a rock concert of the voice as his passion for symbolic meaning resounds through his wit, wordplay and performance art. Alex Caldiero is currently Poet in Residence at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT. He has received grants from the National Endowment of the Arts, Utah Performing Arts Tours and awards from the Association for Mormon letters and Salt Lake City mayor's office. Some Love is published by Signature Books, a publishing company specializing in Western Americana and Mormon literature. Alex will be available to sign copies of his books at this event.

This event is free to the public and includes a small plate meal provided by The Chow Truck, to be parked in front of the bookstore prior to the event between 6-7pm.

Alex Caldiero was born in the ancient town of Licodia Eubea, near Catania, Sicily, in 1949. Caldiero immigrated to the United States at age 10 and was raised in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York. He attended Queens College in Flushing, New York and was apprenticed to the sculpture Michael Lekakis and poet Ignazio Buttitta. He has lived in Utah since 1980.
