Reading and Chapbook Release with Poets Chris Leibow & Joe Ivory Mattingly

Ken Sanders Rare Books is pleased to announce a reading and chapbook release party with poets Christopher Leibow & Joe Ivory Mattingly on Friday, September 24^th at 7:00 p.m. at our downtown bookstore (268 South 200 East). Chris will be reading from his new chapbook Riparia Suites and Other Poems and copies of Riparia, as well as Christopher’s other books and chapbooks, will be available for purchase and signing at the event. This event is free and open to the public.

Christopher Anthony Leibow graduated from Antioch University Los Angeles with an MFA in Poetry, he was nominated for a Pushcart in 2009 and a Utah Book Award. He is winner of the Writers@Work Writer's Advocate Award 2008. He curated Cabaret Voltage a spoken word, art and music show in Salt Lake City for 7 years. He has been active in the arts community and has worked with at risk youth. In addition to local participation, he has been published in Arsenic Lobster, Barrow Street, Interim Magazine, Juked and numerous other journals in print and online. He currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with his attention deficit cat Mister Futzwhittle.

Joe Ivory Mattingly is Executive Director of www.whatispoetrynow.com, a place dedicated to poets speaking to today in the ways of today, In addition to promoting other poets through videos, Mister Mattingly believes writers have a responsibility to mentor youth to see and express the lyric beauty all around us. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
