Exhibit and Book signing with Artist Tony Smith

December Gallery Stroll: Exhibit and Book Signing with Artist Tony Smith Ken Sanders Rare Books is pleased to announce a book signing and opening reception for a new exhibit of paintings from artist Tony Smith and his new book Fuck You: Finally…a Book About Me on Friday, December 2nd from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at our downtown bookstore and gallery (268 South 200 East). Fuck You features mostly new work, rendered almost entirely in marker, from the renowned Utah artist and teacher. Copies of Fuck You ($38.00 hardcover) will be available for purchase and signing at the event. This event is free and open to the public. Smith’s work will be on display through the end of December. Throughout a five decade career, Tony Smith’s work has been exhibited widely nationally and internationally, from Salt Lake City and Washington, D.C. to Paris. His works are included in the collections of The National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., The Utah Museum of Fine Arts, The Denver Art Museum and the Rossi Collection, Geneva, Switzerland and Paris, France. He has worked on a wide array of projects including set design for Utah Repertory Dance Theater, as a conceptual illustrator for Star Trek: The Movie, and as a artist-in-residence for the Djerassi Artists Residency Program. After many years of teaching at the University of Utah and various art departments around the country, he retired from the University of Utah in 2002 and is now Professor Emeritus.
